Healing begins with acceptance. Acceptance of both self and others is necessary in order to understand
the deeper meaning of a situation. It is easy to hide behind shame and blame, but the ease presents
itself when we see ourselves, others, and situations for what they truly are. Acceptance isn’t easy though. How do we accept someone’s wrongdoings? Or their hurtful words and opinions? How do we accept when someone isn’t giving us what the heart needs? Judging their actions just keeps us bound to the hurt. When we acknowledge someone’s actions and see the place of pain they come from, we then have the freedom to know that their actions have nothing to do with us. With that acceptance comes healing because we are no longer carrying around everyone else’s baggage.
